Perfect Sausage Stuffing

Perfect Sausage Stuffing

    1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

    2. Chop onion, apples and celery, set aside.
    3. Bread: If you preplan and can lay the bread out the night before so it can dry do that. If you are like me and don’t pre-plan than use a toaster and lightly brown each piece of bread.  After all are toasted and cooled, cut bread into small cubes.

    4. Sausage: Our family uses 1lb regular and 1lb spicy and mix it together.  You can use any combination of sausages.  Our Italian sausage is sweet and herby, our regular has mild herb flavors, and our spicy has a little kick.  We love the spicy sausage when it mixes with the apple and celery in this recipe.

      Crumble the sausage, uncooked.

    5. Mix all of the ingredients together into a baking dish and season with salt and pepper.  You can bake right in this dish OR stuff into your turkey. Our family stuffs our turkey.

    6. Cover with foil and bake on 350 degrees for 40minutes or follow stuffed turkey cooking guidelines.

    7. Remove from the oven and let sit a few minutes before serving.
