Beefy Cabbage Baked Casserole


2.5 lbs ground beef

1 30 oz can of crushed tomatoes

1 medium onion, diced

3.5 lbs chopped cabbage

1 cup uncooked long grain rice

1 tsp kosher salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 Tbsp chopped garlic

3.5 cups beef broth

1 tsp red pepper flakes

1 cup of your favorite cheese, shredded



1. Preheat oven to 325.

2. Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with cooking spray.

3. In a stock pot, brown the ground beef and add the onion. Cook until the onion becomes transparent. Drain off the excess grease if needed.

4. In a large bowl, add the beef mixture, cabbage, rice, salt and pepper, garlic, crushed tomatoes and red pepper flakes. Mix thoroughly.

5. Pour this mixture into your prepared casserole dish.

6. Pour the beef broth over the beef and cabbage. Do NOT stir.

7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for an hour and 10 minutes.

8. Remove the foil, stir the casserole, recover with the foil and continue to bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the rice and cabbage are tender.

9. Top with your favorite shredded cheese and enjoy!
