    Cost is $78 per child with a discount for 3 or more children.

    Each child will receive a camp t-shirt.

     

    ** Interested in volunteering?? We are looking for older teens (12-16) and adults to help with our farm camps.  Email Ally at education@barrerasfamilyfarm.com if interested. 

     

      

    Chickens: Learn how fast chickens grow from eggs to adults, see them act like dinosaurs out in the pasture as they hunt for food. Hike with us and discover where the chickens hide, what predators they have, gather eggs, learn about processing them for sale in the store, and take home a cute chicken art project.

    Bunnies: Children will get to discover the cuddly critters on the farm while having devoted time to care for our bunnies. Learn about different bunny breeds, watch how fast they hop and play. Help us give the bunnies a bath and make them some yummy cookies. Take home a cuddly bunny art project.

    Horses: Children this week will get to spend time grooming, bathing, and riding the Barreras Family Farm horses Gia and Sierra. Learn how horses are used in agriculture and the different ways to train and take care of them. Everyone gets to try riding (assisted by a farmhand with lead rope).

    Cows & Goats:  Bottle feed baby goats and cows and learn to milk the momma goats. Learn why farmers choose to bottle feed, experience feeding a 100lb baby cow compared to a tiny 10lb baby goat.

    Adventure Camp- Mommy & Me Farm Animals: Enjoy the farm and its animals with your preschool-aged child - campers will get to discover and have time devoted to care for the cuddly critters at our Omaha farm day camp. Learn all about our bunnies, chickens, goats, and more! Feed them their favorite treats, hold them, and brush them. This camp will also include fun games, books, and crafts!

    Adventure Camp-Predators: Children learn the importance of protecting the farm creatures from different predators. These adventure classes includes hikes in the woods and learning skills ei: to shoot a bow (with safety tip arrows) and build a fire, etc.

    Adventure Camp- Pioneering:  Children learn pioneering skills of cooking over a fire, tanning hides, making candles, and more. These adventure classes includes hikes in the woods and learning skills ei: to shoot a bow (with safety tip arrows) and build a fire, etc.

    Adventure Camp-Survival Skills: Children learn skill topics include plant identification, how to find and clean water, building shelter, and more. These adventure classes includes hikes in the woods and learning skills ei: to shoot a bow (with safety tip arrows) and build a fire, etc.

    Soap Making: Ever wanted to know how to make soap? Learn from Mariel Barreras the basics of making cold processed soap and take home what you make.

    Beekeeping: Children will get basic introduction into beekeeping. Tools of the trade, parts of a hive, understanding how honey is made, and go home with some of our farm’s raw honey.

    Gardening: Children learn about soil health, insects, parts of plants, and more.  Focus is on organic practices but conventional topics are covered as well. Students will enjoy getting their hands dirty, planting their own seeds to take home, and doing water projects.

    Pigs: Why do pigs LOVE mud! Help us rotate them in the pasture, pet them, feed them, and take home a fun pig art project. BONUS!! Emily Hendle from #anchormeadowfarm will be teaching and have her adorable KuneKune pigs in tow!!
